ABSS launches first district telehealth program

It's a step toward improving health care in schools. Virtual health care is now available to students at Hillcrest Elementary School in Burlington.The new telehealth program launched about two weeks ago and is already proving to be a success."It's a coordinated effort to improve health and learning," said Kristy Davis, chief student services officer for the Alamance Burlington School System. Through this program, students can now have easy, affordable access to health care on campus."The effort in this initiative is reducing absenteeism," said Davis. "Increasing instructional time, and really improving overall health for students, families and communities."The launch of the telehealth program was made possible through a partnership between ABSS, Cone Health and Burlington Pediatrics.
