The General Manager of BYUradio leads the innovation and operations of all on-demand and linear audio products at BYU Broadcasting. Responsibilities include: 1. Building audiences and shaping the distinctive voice of BYUradio and motivating show teams to create high impact audio programming; 2. Administering BYU Broadcasting's operated platforms: BYUradio, byuradio.org (as well as the BYUradio app) and KBYU-FM (Classical 89); 3. Leading marketing and distribution efforts to maximize audience awareness and engagement across all listening platforms; and 4. Driving innovation to ensure the relevance of BYUradio in a rapidly changing listening landscape. The ideal candidate is someone with the proven ability to make BYUradio a leader in the rapidly evolving podcast and on-demand audio space, while continuing to drive growth on and the relevance of our traditional linear channels. The position requires a candidate that is equally comfortable shaping content, leading and motivating creative and operational teams, formulating marketing and distribution strategy, navigating relationships with external platform and syndication partners, and mastering the oversight of a technologically sophisticated audio distribution organization. Discoverability of our content is critical, whether on podcast platforms, smart devices, and mobile apps, our SiriusXM satellite radio channel, internet streaming, or on the FM radio dial. That includes building positive public awareness in print, on the web, and in other media. The candidate must also possess expertise in administering budgets; overseeing HR and personnel activities, contracting with external partners on content, marketing and distribution efforts and ensuring that legal and regulatory requirements are met. The responsibilities of the General Manager of BYUradio are commensurate with a leader of a national network and global content distributor.
