The introduction of a new "dynamic pricing tariff for electricity customers has been delayed until next year, after some of the countrys main energy suppliers asked the regulator for an extension.The new tariff described as being suitable for energy nerds and not for all consumers by Bonkers.ie will see the price of a households electricity change every half hour according to price fluctuations in the wholesale electricity market.It means they can be told a day in advance when the best time would be to put on a wash, make dinner or do other energy intensive activities in the home to save money.The Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) had originally set a deadline of October 1 this year for all suppliers with 200,000 or more customers to offer this tariff to consumers.
