People with cystic fibrosis face 'significant barriers' to securing a home and pension

People with cystic fibrosis (CF) are living longer thanks to healthcare advancements, but still face significant barriers to achieving life milestones, such as owning a home or securing a pension. Cystic Fibrosis Ireland said the last 10 years alone had seen significant improvements in healthcare standards and the availability of new medication, but more work needs to be done to support people with CF and their families.Currently, 62% of people with CF in Ireland are over the age of 18, and 15% are over the age of 40, which represents a significant shift in the demographic.The charitys chief executive Sarah Tecklenborg said: We want to see advancements in healthcare, and sustained healthcare delivery for people with CF as they age.
