The first opening ceremony to be held outside a stadium, 206 boats full of competing athletes and an all-night, city-wide after party? The Paris 2024 Olympicscertainly kicked off with a fabulous,all-out and at times pretty weird show.Wewere all expecting the dazzling performances from the confirmed headliners Gaga charmedus among an array of pink feathers, Aya Nakamura sashayed down a gold carpet and Celine Dion performed a stunning rendition of LHymne lAmour as the Olympic Cauldron was lit. However, we maybe werent expecting guillotined heads performing behind riverside flames, a gaudy fashion show, minions fighting over the Mona Lisa, nor the controversial, smurf-like take on the Last Supper.
