This particular boat started life in the hire fleet in 1978 (in the video I state 1972 as advised by the owner, which is incorrect) These are very spacious single level river cruisers but this one has had a whole host of recent upgrade that makes her stand out and would make her a perfect liveaboard vessel ns she is fully equipped for such a lifestyle. She has over 400Watts of solar power plus shore power plus twin alternators feeding 5 batteries and a Victron 2kw inverter charger system wired throughout the boat, giving extensive off grid capability. She also has a bow thruster fitted to aid manoeuvring and her Diesel engine was last serviced in December 23 and starts and runs very nicely indeed. She has twin alternators on the engine to make charging batteries much faster. She has had new upholstery in the saloon, a proper mattress fitted to the double midships cabin and a reversing camera fitted to aid mooring stern on. So she is very well equipped and a stand out example. At the stern there is a large heads and shower compartment with full size shower and a new vanity unit and electric flush loo to holding tank. opposite this is a single cabin. Down the companionway we come to the galley to port and the mid cabin which a full double with storage and hanging space. the galley runs down the port side with full size cocker and storage units and sink etc. the good sized saloon has a pull out double or sofa depending on how you configure it and the tv and second fridge and additional freezer are stood on what was a sing berth and or sofa. The sofa cushion is with the boat should you wish to reinstate that area to seating. It is currently set up to be more of a liveaboard layout in that area. Forward is the comfortable helm station with reversing cam and bow thruster and a sliding roof hatch completes the comfortable saloon. the standard forward well is also a great place to spend time outside. This boat has a boat safety certificate to August 2027 and was last antifouled earlier this year. Led lights throughout the boat complete what is a very well appointed example of these popular single level cruisers. These boat details are subject to contract. Register with Boatshed to see 81 extra photos of this JGM Madeira 27 Aft cockpit.Here we have a very tidy and also remarkably original diesel JGM Madeira 27 aft cockpit cruiser. This boat has to be seen as the owner has done an amazing full Two pack repaint a couple of years ago and she looks magnificent! The owner is a professional aircraft painter and so she is top notch in her finish which is very hard to discern she is not a gelcoat finish. It is really that good! She its almost entirely original inside with gelcoat internal mouldings and a tidy saloon and galley that converts to a double. The galley has a good cooker with oven and grill and two burners and a sink and storage unit. The fridge is located in the cockpit. The forward cabin has its infill so can be twin or double configurations and has a sink and vanity unit. The whole boat is clean and tidy and dry from my viewing of her and will make a wonderful first boat. The Toilet is a porta potti for ease of use, although deck fittings for a toilet holding tank are present as she would at one time of had a holding tank loo. The diesel engine is serviced and starts and runs as it should and also feeds a calorifier to provide hot water on tap. The boat is fitted with solar panel to charge the two batteries. She is also fitted with a gas propex heater that stopped working a couple of years back so the owner who only uses the boat in the summer just had it disconnected from the gas supply. It should just need a service and reconnecting to be usable again. She has a very good Jeckells canopy and a cockpit winter cover and her boats safety certificate runs to August 2026. Register with Boatshed to see 37 extra photos of this Motorsailer Ketch Rigged Custom.This Custom Motorsailer was built by Sessions Marine Ltd, Crosshaven in Co Cork in 1955. It has a very interesting history provided by the current owner. Once owned by Alistair Maclean (the writer). After Alistair Maclean sold her she was owned by Daks the clothing company and used in St Tropez for many years. She underwent a major refit in 2000-2005 with over 900,000 spent. Works were carried out at the St Malo yard, Chantier Naval Etoile Marine, who were the successors to the well known Chantier L'Abbe, who had refitted the Pen Duick yachts of the famous yachtsman Eric Tabarly, much of the ancillary equipment was fitted at this time. Further work was carried out in Denmark. Works also included fitting a new stem and new teak decks. She spent three years in Guernsey where she was re-caulked, the work was undertaken by the late John Cluett at the Marine & General boatyard. The steering was removed and renovated. The boat was hauled in Granville France from October to January 2024 where extensive work was carried out including replacement of all garboard planks and two planks above this. She also had 25% of Portside ( topsides) from stem back re-planked and new bulwark from port bow to past mid ships, plus other work. The complete boat has recently been inspected and some work carried out including wiring, new bilge pumps, new engine alternator, new hydraulics for bow thruster and other minor works. The yacht has had extensive cruising. This took her to England, Ireland, Scotland, Norway and most of the Baltic countries. Some work was done at the well known wooden boatyard, Ring Andersen in Denmark. These boat details are subject to contract.
