We are looking for an individual with a proactive attitude who is focused, flexible, and proficient in several aspects of broadcast operations, and who can work collaboratively in a live control room and studio environment. This individual will be expected to provide coverage in prompter and sliding commercial break operator capacities to work collaboratively in control room and live studio environments. They will be required to work with on-air talent, engineering, and editorial teams, as well as their global counterparts to ensure a quality visual production daily. A teleprompter operator uses software in the control room to scroll through scripted material. The candidate must be able to match the speed of the scrolling text to the speaking of the presenter and adjust to any improvisation of the scripts. The candidate must be able to read the text and understand the prompting cues within the scripts, as well as setup and operate the teleprompter as well as communicate issues to management and engineering teams. A sliding break operator's main responsibility is to keep the time for the show. The candidate is responsible for rolling the soft commercial breaks during LIVE broadcasts on multiple feeds. The candidate should be able to do basic time mathematics and calculate in and out block times. This position requires the individual be able to work flexible shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday work may be required. We are seeking a skilled video and audio producer for a six-month role to help develop and lead the production of a new weekly video podcast. This show will feature the sort of informed analysis and robust discussion to answer the question, how can we protect American ideals against the dangers that currently threaten democratic institutions and market freedoms? The video podcast will be published on YouTube every week, as well as in its own podcast feed. The show's producer will need the ability to act independently while also collaborating closely with the show's host and the broader editorial team. This is a six month full-time temporary position and can be based in New York City or Washington, D.C. Proven experience in video production and editing required (preferably in podcasting and journalism).
